(VNF) - The Vietnamese sports delegation at the upcoming SEA Games 28 has officially enjoyed a new uniform sponsored by the Duc Giang Garment Company under the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group.

Apart from that, athletes also received their athletics strips from the Dong Luc sports manufacturing company.

According to Mr Tran Duc Phan, Deputy head of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training cum head of the Vietnamese sports delegation, so far, there has been 15 sponsors in all, totaling over VND2 billion. This year’s gold medalist can expect a range of excellent rewards such as a motorbike, television and smart phone.

On May 25th, the Vietnamese male football squad will depart for the competition. Later on June 2nd, most of the members of the delegation including Mr Phan are planning to take part in the flag raising ceremony for Vietnam.

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on the evening May 19th to officially send off the Vietnamese sports delegation on their way to the 28th SEA Games in Singapore. The 570-member Vietnamese delegation consisted of 392 of the country’s most outstanding athletes competing in 268 categories of 28/36 events. Vietnam has set the ambitious goal of securing 56-65 gold medals to rank among the top three teams competing in the Games./.
