On behalf of the Presidium of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, I would like to sincerely send my best wishes to those working in people's foreign affairs, friends, partners, and all readers of the Vietnam Times on the occasion of New Year 2024.

The Year of the Cat has passed with many changes and challenges. Under the proper direction of the Party and State leaders, the determination of the entire political system, and effective coordination of the pillars, Vietnam's foreign policy has gained outstanding and important achievements, contributing to implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, and the country's socio-economic development goals.

In the overall success of Vietnam's foreign affairs in 2023, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations made positive contributions through innovating thinking, approaches, forms, and content in organizing people-to-people diplomacy activities.

Vietnam has made contributions within the framework of high-level foreign affairs activities, in foreign non-governmental work, research, consulting, information work, in building and strengthening the organizational apparatus, and staff training.

To gain those achievements, in addition to the close attention and direction of the Party and State leaders, the coordination of departments, ministries, branches, and localities, there is also political determination, solidarity, and efforts of the entire system of Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations at central and local levels.

In 2024, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations is determined to unite, innovate, create, overcome difficulties, successfully complete tasks to welcome the 7th National Congress.

The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations effectively performs the "core" role of the people-to-people diplomacy pillar, building a positive and favorable social foundation for relations between the people of Vietnam, and the people of countries around the world, building and developing the country, contributing to the common movement of the world's people for peace, sustainable development and social progress.
