Thirteen traditional handicraft villages of Hanoi and six traditional handicraft villages of Quang Nam will be showcasing their products at An Hoi Sculpture Garden, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, from August 17 to 19.

Nineteen traditional handicraft villages to meet at Hoi An – Japan cultural exchange

The event aims to honour and develop traditional handicraft villages in Hanoi and Quang Nam province.

The craft fair is one of the activities marking the occasion of the Japanese culture days in Quang Nam and the 16th Hoi An – Japan cultural exchange.

It will feature the participation of Quang Nam Tourism Promotion and Information Centre, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organisations, the Hanoi municipal Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Centre.

The event aims to honour and develop traditional handicraft villages in Hanoi and Quang Nam and help artisans to share information, experiences and cooperation between traditional villages.

Diverse activities will be held during the cultural exchange such as a photo exhibition on the persification of Vietnamese culture, a Hoi An - Japan art exchange, a Judo martial arts performance and Hoi An - Japan traditional handicrafts, and others.

Vietnam - Japan gastronomy and cultural exchange and exhibition, meeting with Japanese investors, workshop on building and building smart city associated with environmental protection, congress of Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Quang Nam.

Hoi An Ancient City was one of the busiest trading ports of Southeast Asia in the 17th and 18th centuries. Since its inception in the 16th century, many traders, especially those from Japan, camethe city for trade, building cultural works and unique architectures.

This is a beautiful symbol of cultural exchange and the long-term relationship between the two countries. Maintaining the organization of the annual Hoi An - Japan cultural exchange is a testament for the strong relationship in all fields between Vietnam and Japan.

The opening ceremony will see the performances of artists and bands from Japan and Vietnam./.
