Ninh Thuan Hosts the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in September

The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival will take place from September 27-29 in Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province. It aims to introduce the traditional cultural values ​​of the Cham people to both domestic and foreign visitors.

The festival is themed "Preserving and promoting the Cham ethnic cultural identity in the period of national integration and development." There are 9 provinces and cities participating, namely Ninh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlight of this year's event will be the performances of traditional cultural activities of the Cham ethnic group. Performances will take place in front of the cultural exhibition space of the provinces at April 16 Square Area, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. The festival will focus on the rituals that broadly simulate the cultural characteristics of folk beliefs of the Cham people while expressing the national cultural identity.

Aló, the exhibition space, will also introduce and promote local traditional cultural products to attendees. It will contribute to reflecting the rich and diverse Cham ethnic culture in the unity of Vietnamese culture and showcase the outstanding achievements in production, construction, national defense and security, socio-economic development, and vibrant community cultural life.

Additionally, there will be a "Mass Arts Festival" and performances of Cham ethnic costumes. Typical folk songs, dance, live music, and musical instrument ensembles bearing bold identities will also be included.

Visitors can come to a tourism workshop with the theme "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development" or an exhibition "Cultural characteristics of the Cham people in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups" to understand the cultural tourism of the local areas. They can enjoy photos of Cham ethnic culture or fine art paintings about Cham ethnic culture at the exhibitions.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, the event will contribute to honoring and introducing the traditional cultural values ​​of the Cham people to domestic and international friends. It is an important occasion to help strengthen the promotion of the image of Vietnam rich in cultural identity, unity, and harmony among ethnic groups.
