Vietnamese expats living in Warsaw, Poland, has recently held a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10).

OV community in Poland commemorate Hanoi’s Liberation Day

A corner of Hanoi was recreated at the event, featuring a cyclo and women wearing Ao Dai, a traditional long dress.

In attendance at the event were the Vietnamese ambassador to Poland Vu Dang Dung, Tadeusz Iwinski, president of the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Association, alongside a large contingent of Polish friends and members of the Overseas Vietnamese community in Poland.

In his speech, the Vietnamese ambassador noted his great appreciation for the contributions made by members of the Vietnamese community in holding significant events for Hanoians abroad.

The diplomat added that these occasions serve to create chances for people to meet, exchange ideas, and maintain the traditions of Hanoians.

He showed his hope that members will organised more activities in the future to boost solidarity among the Vietnamese community in Poland.

The ceremony proved to be a lively affair, with a wide range of activities taking place, including a painting exhibition displaying artwork of Hanoi by Vietnamese artists and a fashion event showcasing traditional costumes modelled by Vietnamese expats.

In addition, art performances and a food fair were also held, with many Overseas Vietnamese and international friends in attendance.
