"I am very proud of having visited Uncle Ho’s hometown and burning incense on his altar. As a son of Nghe An and living far from the homeland for more than 20 years, this is the second time I have visited Uncle Ho’s hometown. Visiting the homeland this time, I am very touched and very happy to see the homeland innovating and developing dramatically. I hope that Vietnamese people around the world will always remember their origins and make a contribution to it’s development as the desire of President Ho Chi Minh when he as still alive," shared Vo Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Nghe An Fellow-Countrymen Association from Moscow (Russia).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, living in Poland shared that she was 60 and she had been away from the homeland for many years, this was her first visit to Nghe An province, Uncle Ho’s hometown after years of dreaming. Visiting Uncle Ho’s hometown, she felt really close, and at peace when living among the people in a proper Vietnamese village.

She has read a lot of books about Uncle Ho and knew about the life of Uncle Ho through mass media. Now she had an opportunity to visit Uncle Ho’s simple thatched cottage and seen the tools he used in the house, she was touched. Uncle Ho is really a shining example for today's younger generation to learn and follow.

Ms. Hoa said after the trip, when returning to Poland, she would tell their children to listen and learn Uncle Ho’s virtues and simple lifestyle.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Hien, Deputy Chief of the Office of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said that returning to her roots, including visiting the Kim Lien relic has been an annual event of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese for many years.

The overseas Vietnamese delegation has 70 people from 20 countries and territories. Through these activities, overseas Vietnamese will exchange with each other, review the history, culture and tradition of Vietnam as well as promote relations between overseas Vietnamese with the homeland and it is a bridge between Vietnam and overseas Vietnamese in the world./.
