According to John Samuel, Oxfam has been in Vietnam for more than 17 years, accompanying Vietnam through many difficult periods in its history. Impressed with the socio-economic development of Vietnam in recent years, he came to Vietnam to consult experiences and consider future development directions for Oxfam's operations in Vietnam.
Oxfam looks forward to working with the Vietnamese government, VUFO, PACCOM (an agency under VUFO), and related agencies to better cooperate with the country, especially in response to change climate, said the organization's representative.
At the meeting, Phan Anh Son said Vietnam aims to achieve a GDP per capita of 10,000 USD by 2030. To reach that goal, Vietnam needs foreign NGOs' support. VUFO and PACCOM are willing to assist and cooperate with Oxfam in implementing its activities in Vietnam.
