At the meeting, Bui The Giang welcomed PTVN delegation to Vietnam and visited the Vietnam-US Society and the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations on the new year and near the 50th anniversary of the Paris Peace Accord on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam (January 27, 1973 - January 27, 2023). Giang highly appreciated Brusseau and American friends' cooperation and friendship for Vietnam over the years, which have helped Vietnamese central provinces in hunger eradication, poverty alleviation, and improvement of education and living environment.

Giang informed the PTVN delegation about Vietnam's foreign policy to eradicate poverty, build infrastructure, and develop the economy, especially the government's interest in dealing with the consequences of war, Agent Orange, and landmines issues towards sustainable development.

Giang hoped that Jerilyn Brusseau, PeaceTree Vietnam, and American friends would continue to sympathize with Vietnam, help people in the central provinces deal with the legacy of war, and support medical technology and agriculture to help disadvantaged families to raise living conditions in the coming time.
