In the last months of 2023, the local Unions of Friendship Organizations focus on maintaining and developing relations with existing partners, strengthening relations with neighbors and traditional countries. They develop and expand relationships with new partners to organize exchange, friendship and cooperation activities.

Le Xuan Hai, chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations: Connecting businesses

In September 2023, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Thap province will send a delegation of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association and about 20 local businesses to visit and review the Memorandum of Understanding with the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association in Salavan province (Laos) .

They support industries and businesses to connect and explore investment opportunities in Champasak and Salavan provinces.

The Union continues to improve the effectiveness of foreign non-governmental aid activities, focusing on existing partners, potential partners, which are suitable to the province's advocacy needs, establishing relationships with new partners.

They maintain and promote effective coordination with the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) in foreign non-governmental aid mobilization.

The Union organizes delegations to meet foreign NGOs in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, coordinates in mobilizing and sponsoring programs and projects, as proposed by a number of sectors and localities.

They collaborate with a number of foreign NGOs to survey and understand local needs in the fields of health, education, rural development and social security.

In June 2023, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Thap Province advised and proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a conference on trade and investment cooperation between India and Dong Thap province.

The conference took place in two days (June 27-29) with the participation of 135 Indian and Dong Thap businesses. The meeting initially achieved positive results. Signed many businesses of the two countries Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation in fields of tourism, agricultural products, legality, and information technology.

The Union acted as a focal point to introduce a number of Dutch and Korean enterprises to learn about rice products of Bich Chi Food Joint Stock Company. That created opportunities and promoted trade between businesses in the province, and Dutch and Korean partners.

The Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Thap province also connects Indian and Dong Thap businesses with the same industry (lotus, mango, rice, fish).

Previously, in April 2023, the Union organized a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands.

The activities include cycling through the inner streets of Cao Lanh city, the delegation of the Consulate General, Dutch businesses in Ho Chi Minh City visiting Dong Binh water plant - a project sponsored by the Netherlands.

The Union held the celebration with the participation of about 150 delegates, creating favorable conditions for the delegation of the Consulate General and Dutch businesses to exchange and meet with leaders of local industries and businesses.

On July 28, Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations will organize a program to move foreign NGOs, FDI enterprises and foreign associations in 2023.

The program aims to meet and express gratitude to foreign NGOs and donors, who made many positive contributions to the sustainable development of Dong Nai province.

At the event, they will exchange cooperation needs and move foreign NGOs, FDI enterprises, and foreign associations to continue implementing projects in the province.

In the last months of 2023, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province will organize the Congress of Provincial Friendship Associations, including Vietnam-Russia, Vietnam-China, Vietnam-France, Vietnam-USA, and Vietnam-Germany.

They will organize people-to-people activities to celebrate the anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Cambodia.

The Union will also hold a contest to design cultural gifts for people-to-people diplomacy work in Dong Nai province, a cultural exchange program with Consul Generals of countries, and a competition on people's foreign affairs.

In the first 6 months of 2023, Dong Nai province cooperated with foreign NGOs and other donors to deploy 12 foreign non-governmental aid with a total committed value of nearly VND85.6 billion (US$3.61 million), an increase of more than 300% over the same period in 2022.

The grants focus on a number of areas including education-training, vocational training, medical, environmental protection, improving skills and quality of life for people with disabilities, Agent Orange victims, the weak, women and children.

One of the key tasks of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Cao Bang province in the last months of 2023 is to organize the 3rd Congress of Delegates, term 2023-2028.

Around October 2023, the Union and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in Cao Bang province will send a delegation to Laos to visit the old battlefield.

They also proposed the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee to twin with a locality of Laos to join hands to reduce poverty, develop the economy, and foster the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

In addition, the Union also visited Baise and Chong Zuo provinces (Guangxi, China) to connect with the friendship associations of these two cities.

After the National Conference on People-to-people in 2022, thanks to the connection and support of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, especially PACCOM, a number of foreign non-governmental organizations researched, implemented and implemented aid in the province.

The aid includes supporting solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households of Cao Bang, and donating more than 1,000 water purifiers for people in areas with difficulty in getting daily water.
