Relationship between peoples of the two countries

Since the beginning of the year, the people-to-people exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan in Da Nang have been a prominent highlight in people-to-people diplomacy particularly and the city's diplomacy.

Recently, the city successfully organized the Vietnam-Japan Festival, which is in the series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023). The festival leaves many impressions in the hearts of Japanese people, tourists and business community in Da Nang.

Satoh Tetsuya from Yokohama city said that he has been in Da Nang for 2 years and has attended the festival twice. This year's festival features many unique cultural activities of Japan and Vietnam. This makes people of the two countries closer together, and understand more about the customs and culture of Vietnam and Japan.

“I am happy that the city of Yokohama, which is my hometown, established friendly and cooperative relations with Da Nang. At this time, in my hometown, many meaningful activities and events are taking place to celebrate this special year.

Living in Da Nang for 2 years, I received a lot of help from the people here that make me want to stick with this place. Da Nang attracted me because of its safe tourism environment, modern infrastructure, developed information technology, and stable political situation that bring me peace of mind and safety when living in the city," said Satoh Tetsuya.

Attending the festival, Le Thi Thanh Thuy (Hai Chau district) said, the festival is an opportunity for her to learn more about Japan.

She hoped that the city will maintain this festival so that people can continue to experience the unique cultural features of the land of the rising sun.

Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori said that Da Nang and Japan not only cooperate in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economy, culture and education, but also have understanding and sympathy between the peoples thanks to the long-standing historical-cultural connection between the two countries.

The Vietnam-Japan Festival is an opportunity for people of both sides to connect, exchange as well as express mutual affection.

Besides, local government agencies, universities, and companies from Japan also participated in this year's festival.

That clearly shows that Da Nang currently attracts the attention of Japanese businesses and investors. This will promote cooperation in many fields between the localities of Japan and Da Nang.
