In 2020, although affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, the people's external relations activities of Phu Tho province will continue to achieve positive results. Accordingly, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Phu Tho province (Phu Tho Union) actively propagates the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, the Party's directives and resolutions on meaning, the importance of establishing friendly relations with countries around the world.
The Phu Tho Union has deployed and instructed its member organizations to promote activities of peace, solidarity, friendship, and people cooperation, and deepen the relationship with the people of neighboring countries and international friends. Coordinating with the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and a number of agencies and units in Phu Tho province to strengthen mobilization of aid, support difficult localities in the province such as pilot implementation of CFCT project at Dan Quyen commune, Tam Nong district and cooperated with the Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) to organize a program "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" for students of Dong Cuu Primary School in Thanh Son District, etc.
Promoting activities of peace, solidarity, friendship, and people cooperation to deepen relationships with people in neighboring countries and with international friends; especially the countries that have relationship relations such as: Luang Namtha province of Laos; Shanxi province of China; Hwaseong City of South Korea; Nara prefecture of Japan. Expanding relationships with new partners; promoting the bridging role in promoting exchange, economic cooperation, culture, science, technology, and charity of the Union; organizing people-to-people diplomacy activities and friendship festival events, etc.
Performing well its role as the focal point in the international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) aid mobilization work in Phu Tho province; continuing to coordinate with Departments, departments, agencies, unions of provinces, districts, cities and towns in the province, member friendship associations maintain, strengthen and expand cooperative relationships with INGOs (including INGOs have been operating in Phu Tho) to attract investment and to implement aid projects in the province to ensure efficiency. Coordinating in checking and evaluating the effectiveness of the completed projects that the Union of Phu Tho province is the focal point.
The Union has coordinated with the Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Tho province to implement the program "Strengthening propaganda, mobilization, gathering and unity of overseas Vietnamese in the new situation" encouraging the spirit of patriotism and national pride, preserving and promoting the national identity in the overseas Vietnamese community, encouraging individuals to invest in economic development in the locality; guiding Friendship Associations and its members to implement activities aimed at strengthening peace, solidarity, friendship and cooperation.
At the conference, strengthening the title of President of the Union of Friendship Organizations in Phu Tho province. Accordingly, Do Ngoc Dung - Former Director of Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs resigned from the position of Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Phu Tho province due to his retirement under the regime.

Du Van Quang - Deputy Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Department was elected to join the Executive Board, the Standing Committee and held the position of Chairman of the Union for the 2018-2023 term.
