Truong Sa island district in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa is located in a tropical climate zone, with harsh weather, strong winds all year round, and scarcity of land and fresh water, so growing trees is extremely difficult.
Despite the harsh tropical climate with strong winds year-round and limited land and fresh water, the unwavering resolve of the soldiers on Truong Sa island district has triumphed over the difficulties of growing trees.
Through their perseverance, creativity, and tireless efforts, they have forced nature to yield, gradually planting, and nurturing trees.
As a result, the islands are now adorned with a variety of trees, fresh vegetables, and blooming flowers. This not only improves the living conditions but also regulates the climate, provides shade, protects the land and structures, combats climate change, and strengthens national security and sovereignty at sea.
