President Ho Chi Minh's Bust Presented to Relic Site in Chinese City

A bronze bust of President Ho Chi Minh and other objects were presented to a relic site dedicated to President Ho in Kunming City, in China’s Yunnan Province.

On behalf of the Consulate General and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Yunnan, Vietnamese Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu recently presented an Uncle Ho statue and 41 artifacts to Liu Jia Zhen, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Kunming city, reported Nhan Dan Online.

The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Wang Ning, Vietnamese Consul General in Kunming Nguyen Trung Hieu, and Governor of Yunnan Province Liu Jiachen.

The artifacts include a bust of President Ho Chi Minh in bronze with a base 1.9 m high and 0.9 m wide, and 41 restored artifacts, including items serving the late President 's daily life.

The objects were made at the request of Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. They include gymnastics set, books and badges of good people, good deeds launched and rewarded by President Ho Chi Minh, photo and manuscript documents and articles about good people, good deeds written by President Ho Chi Minh.

They were donated by the Consulate General, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Yunnan, the Consular Delegation in Kunming, Vietnamese-Chinese friendship personnel and businesses, and crafted by the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

The delivery of the objects was made on the occasion of Ambassador Pham Sao Mai’s attendance at the 6th China-South Asia Expo in Kunming City.

The relic of President Ho Chi Minh's old residence at No. 81 Hua Shan Nan Street, Kunming City, began to be restored on May 19, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

This work is very important, not only helping the people of Vietnam and China, including the Vietnamese community in Yunnan, better understand the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, but also contributing to enhancing the education of the young generations of the two countries regarding the traditional friendship between the two countries.

It is expected that the relic will be opened for people to visit and learn about the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh after the restoration.
