On the evening of January 19 (December 20 on Lunar Calendar), in Hanoi, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SOCV), under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired and coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies to organize the 2025 Homeland Spring Art Exchange themed "Vietnam - Rising in the New Era."

The program saw the participation of nearly 1,000 overseas Vietnamese, who return to Vietnam to celebrate Tet and attend the Homeland Spring 2025 program.

In his speech, President Luong Cuong emphasized: “In the jubilant and exciting atmosphere of the new year, as we prepare to welcome the Spring of the Snake in Hanoi, a city with a thousand years of civilization, known for its peace, conscience, and human dignity, the heart of the nation, I, along with the leaders of the Party, State, central departments, ministries, sectors, and Hanoi city, am happy and moved to reunite with our compatriots at the Homeland Spring 2025.”

"No matter where we live in or how different our living conditions are, every Tet - every Spring, we always turn to our homeland and our roots. Tet is not just a time for family reunions, but also a moment to honor and affirm our nation's cherished traditional cultural values. It reminds each of us that, despite the distance, we remain an inseparable part of our homeland and country. This is the sacred bond, the strong connection between those far from home and our beloved Vietnam."

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong extended his warmest feelings, kind regards, and best New Year wishes to all the people present and compatriots abroad.

The President affirmed that the Party and State always pay special attention and care to compatriots abroad. The overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people and an important resource of the Vietnamese community. This has been the consistent and continuous policy of the Party and State.

The policies and guidelines related to overseas Vietnamese will continue to be implemented more comprehensively and robustly in the future, clearly demonstrating the sentiments and responsibilities of the Party and State in increasingly better responding to the legitimate aspirations and wishes of our compatriots abroad. This will create motivation to encourage compatriots to further promote in careers, foster and nurture the spirit of patriotism, and love for the nation, and preserve the Vietnamese language and culture—the soul of thousand-year-old Vietnam.

The President stated: “In the process of building and developing the country, the Party and State always appreciate and value the contributions of compatriots abroad. Together, we aim to realize the goal of building a strong and prosperous Vietnam. At this meaningful moment, I call on our compatriots abroad to continue to unite, work together, nurture patriotism, and join hands with our compatriots at home to shoulder the great mission of the nation.”
