Dr. Tran Hai Linh, Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA), overseas Vietnamese in the RoK, and delegation members participated in the working group.
The delegation's visit aims to promote friendship and cooperative relations between Vietnam and the RoK while also realizing a conclusion of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to implement the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW dated August 12, 2021, on overseas Vietnamese affairs in the new situation.

During the visit, the delegation worked with the RoK’s Economic, Social, and Labor Council (ESLC) on the Cooperation Program for the 2024-2029 period, met with the Chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council, and visited the Economic and Science Promotion Agency of Gyeonggi-do Province to gain insight about the thoughts and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese living, studying, and working in the RoK.
At the meeting with the ESLC, the two sides agreed that as both organizations are members of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS), each side has the right and responsibility to attend the Annual General Meeting. Furthermore, the development of bilateral cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the ESLC contributes to enhancing the connection between AICESIS member organizations.
In addition, the two sides have improved their understanding and learning about the activities of the two agencies and other social organizations; exchanged experiences related to the operation and methods of social dialogue; and organized delegations to exchange and learn experiences for officials and administrative staff from both sides. This will provide practical benefits to the people of the two countries, while also positively contributing to Asian and global peace, stability, and cooperation.

On behalf of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President Nguyen Huu Dung sincerely invited the ESLC team to visit and work in Vietnam in September 2024.
Furthermore, the ESLC needs to continue to focus on promoting relevant agencies and RoK’s businesses to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, including economic development, investment, labor, vocational education, and training, particularly highly skilled labor for Vietnamese workers, social security, and both countries' socioeconomic development.
Chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council Yeom Jong-hyun received the delegation at the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council headquarters, emphasizing that "the focus and importance of the relationship between the RoK and Vietnam are economic cooperation, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges". He also expressed his wish to maintain "an exemplary mutually beneficial partnership."
The Chairman also sent his thanks to the VKBIA and its members for connecting so that the working session and exchange between the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council and the delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee took place sincerely and openly.
He also requested that the VKBIA continue to work with the Members of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council to continue acting as a bridge to develop cooperative relationships in many specific fields, which will promote corporations, in which promoting companies in Gyeonggi-do province to invest, cooperate, and do business with Vietnam.
At the meeting with the Chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council, Vice President Nguyen Huu Dung proposed that the Gyeonggi-do province side continue to contribute to promoting cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of economics, investment, science and high technology, labor, and trade, vocational education and training, especially highly skilled labor for Vietnamese workers. In addition, it is essential to support the Vietnamese community so that they can feel secure in doing business, living, and studying in Gyeonggi-do; and pay attention to policies to support the welfare of Vietnamese-RoK multicultural families.

The delegation also worked with leaders of the Economic and Science Promotion Agency of Gyeonggi-do Province (GBSA) and visited Pangyo High-Tech Valley.
According to a GBSA leadership representative, the organization is currently focused on many global corporations and companies in the fields of high and advanced technology, including semiconductor technology, microchips, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, smart manufacturing technology, environmental technology, and green technology. GBSA is a leading organization that promotes the growth and innovation of the region's startups and small and medium-sized businesses.
This company operates a variety of facilities, including startup incubators, biotech incubators, and advanced technology research centers, which attract a large number of high-quality, highly experienced employees.
According to 2022 statistics, total income from GBSA enterprises would reach USD 122 billion and increase further in 2023. In particular, GBSA leaders aim to continue promoting investment cooperation and science and technology development with Vietnam, and they additionally propose that the VKBIA continue to connect, exchange, support, and cooperate for coordination in the coming time to achieve the highest possible effectiveness.

During the trip, the delegation worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in the RoK. At the meeting, Vice President Nguyen Huu Dung stated that Vietnam-RoK relations have developed significantly and are now at the best stage, thanks to significant contributions from the Vietnamese overseas community.
At the working sessions, Vice President Nguyen Huu Dung proposed that the ESLC, Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council, the GBSA, and the VKBIA continue to organize bilateral exchange activities between Vietnam and the RoK; promote cooperation activities in economics, investment, science, and technology; develop high-quality human resources; support the Vietnamese community in the RoK to feel secure in studying, living and working in the RoK, which contributes to the development of the host country and the development of Vietnam-RoK relations.
