RENEW Communicates on Mine Accident Prevention for Students in Quang Tri and Quang Ngai

This is an education program a mine and explosive ordnance risk implemented by Project RENEW and district unions with funding from the Irish Aid Agency through the Irish Embassy in Vietnam since 2015.
Specifically, on April 27, the Standing Committee of Vinh Linh District Youth Union coordinated with Project RENEW in Quang Tri and Le Quy Don Secondary School to organize a Safety Day to prevent mines and explosives for students.
The program includes many activities such as: learning knowledge about identifying characteristics, causes, consequences, and how to prevent land mines and explosive materials through a system of flip-flop documents and pictures; drawing competition and presentation about bombs, mines, and explosives; Q&A about mines and ways to avoid encountering land mines in reality; with the exercise game "Overcoming the minefield".
Previously, on April 26, Trieu Thanh Commune Youth Union - Trieu Thanh Secondary School Union; Trieu Do Commune Youth Union - Trieu Do Primary & Secondary School Union also organized a Community Football Festival integrating propaganda on mine and explosives prevention.
Through non-competitive soccer activities, "Playing soccer without playing with landmines" has created a useful and safe playground for children to learn and discuss topics related to landmines.
In Hai Lang district, on April 25, Hai Lang District Youth Union coordinated with Project RENEW to organize for students of Hai Quy Primary and Secondary School to visit the Quang Tri Mine Action Center and Quang Tri Museum. Previously, Hai Lang District Youth Union also coordinated with Project RENEW to organize community football activities integrating communication and education on mine prevention for students at Hai Chanh Primary and Secondary School on April 24 and Hai Tho Primary & Secondary School on April 17.

In Quang Ngai, on April 17, 19, 20, the Red Cross Society of Quang Ngai province coordinated with Project RENEW and schools to organize an Extracurricular Activity with the theme "Communication to prevent and minimize impacts damage from bombs, mines, and explosives" at the Primary/Secondary School of Hanh Tin Dong commune and the Primary School of Hanh Thien commune, Nghia Hanh district. The activity attracted hundreds of students to participate in games, theater, ringing the golden bell, and challenging quizzes to consolidate their knowledge about landmines.
According to the plan, from now until June, these communication activities will be held in turn at the remaining schools benefiting from the Project in communes in Nghia Hanh and Ba To districts.
