Vietnam, US Strengthen Educational and Cultural Cooperation
	US State Dept. Recognizes Vietnam’s Progress in Anti-Trafficking Fight

Speaking at the conference, Phan Anh Son said that 2025 marks an important milestone when Vietnam and the US celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations will coordinate with the Vietnam – US Society to organize activities to celebrate this event.

To promote Vietnam – US relations through people-to-people channels, especially in economics, science, and technology, he suggested that the Vietnam – US Society prepare carefully when attending the SelectUSA Investment Summit in the US. VUS needs to study the area, grasp the needs of Vietnamese enterprises when connecting with the US market, and promote cooperation and exchange between the two countries' localities.

Regarding the VUS Center for International Research and Cooperation, Phan Anh Son proposed focusing on feasibility studies, ensuring efficiency and high applicability. He also recommended that cooperation activities must be substantive, with contributions from both sides and comply with common rules in foreign relations.

According to the reports, 2024 witnessed a new development in Vietnam – US relations after the two countries upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in September 2023.

People-to-people diplomacy activities between Vietnam and the US, directly implemented by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam – US Society, have achieved positive results, contributing to promoting relations between the two countries in many aspects.

VUS has coordinated with the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations to hold activities for peace, friendship, and people-to-people cooperation. They also plant activities to connect, share, and express gratitude to American peace activists who have supported and helped Vietnam, and participate in activities to celebrate Vietnam – US strong connection.

The Vietnam – US Society has coordinated with the US organization Two Side Project (2SP) to implement the "Peace House" project, building houses for the poor in localities affected by war and natural disasters. In 2024, 2SP has committed to supporting the construction of 3 houses in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.

VUS continues to promote research, consulting, and foreign information work. They also actively coordinate with local organizations to carry out people-to-people diplomacy work.

At the conference, Phan Anh Son awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to two Vice Presidents of the Vietnam -US Society, Bui The Giang and Nguyen Hai Giang, for their achievements in work from 2018-2022, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the nation.

The Vietnam - US Society also received a Certificate of Merit from the Party Delegation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations for completing its task in 2024. Several groups also received Certificates of Merit from the President of the Vietnam - US Society for their many contributions to the Vietnam - US people-to-people foreign relations in 2024.
