With restrictions lifted and the Covid crisis subdued, the people and country of Vietnam now enjoy the 31st SEA Games.

The streets are filled with the colors of flags, posters, busy streets and international tourists. That shows that people are reassured, the Covid-19 pandemic has been pushed back and the socio-economy is recovering quickly.

Fighting the pandemic

Since 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected Vietnam's various social scenes, while families struggled during extensive lockdowns, creating great pressure on Vietnam's socio-economic development.

Despite the issues, Vietnam's top priority is to protect people's health and lives in pandemic prevention and control, while strengthening social security and the rights of the vulnerable.

With the efforts of the political system and people, the cooperation and support of international partners, Vietnam has launched the largest vaccination campaign in history. Vietnam has become one of the countries with the highest vaccine coverage rate in the world. As of May 15, 2022, the total number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine injected in Vietnam is 217,039,026 doses.

This impressive result has helped Vietnam transition to a stage of safe, flexible adaptation, recovery and socio-economic development. Vietnam continues to realize the goals of ensuring and enhancing human rights according to the 2013 Constitution and the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

Since March 15, Vietnam officially reopened for international tourism, marking its readiness to recover and transform after the pandemic. Vietnam supports and creates maximum conditions for businesses and individuals to operate tourism services.
