The sixth Hue Traditional Craft Festival, themed “Quintessence of Vietnamese craft”, will be held from April 28th to May 2nd with numerous attractive and special programmes.

The event is organised every two years, in odd-numbered years, coming between two Hue festivals. It is expected to attract the participation of more than 200 artisans from 40 famous craft villages in Thua Thien Hue province and across the country.

During the festival, there will be a scientific conference discussing Hue’s imprint and Vietnam’s character in traditional craft products", an exhibition on a collection of rare and valuable antiques related to traditional craft villages of Nguyen Dynasty and a space honoring artisans and craft villages on Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street, Phan Boi Chau and Tu Tuong parks.

In addition, at the Hue Cultural Museum, Hue traditional crafts and Hue culture over the periods, will be introduced to visitors. Beautiful photos by photographers from ASEAN countries will be exhibited with the theme “Cultural beauty of ASEAN countries”.

On the sidelines of the festival, many cultural art programmes will be arranged, such as a kite flying at Phu Van Lau – Thuong Bac park, a festival "Childhood colors" at Ly Tu Trong park and Hue Children House, sailing on the Huong river, and Hue cuisine at the February 3rd park./.
