The event was held by the Vietnam-France Friendship Association in Hanoi on September 23 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties, and the 10 years of the establishment of the bilateral strategic partnership.

Vice President of the association Nguyen Thai Dung said the forum offered an opportunity for businesses to explore potential tourism in both Vietnam and France and exchange tourism products.

Obstacles to tourism development were also tabled for discussion, thus helping the two countries devise policies to better the situation, and promote their tourism cooperation, he continued.

Le Ba Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association, noted that Vietnam and Hanoi particular have become a tourism trend of French people, and suggested the sides promote cooperation between travel partners and airlines to fully tap potential and advantages in this regard.

Le Thuy Nhung, a representative from Vietravel Hanoi, suggested utilizing the good relations between the two countries to enhance tourism cooperation, which, she said, will help travel firms, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses grow further.

As the peak season of tourism is approaching, the number of international tourists to Vietnam has bounced back significantly, especially after the implementation of the country’s new visa policy which was introduced in August.

Under the amended Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam, the e-visa validity period is extended to 90 days from 30 days, and for multiple entries.
