He also expressed his hope that Vietnam and Russia would complete a statue of President Ho Chi Minh in St. Petersburg so it could be debuted in 2023, the year that marks 100 years since Uncle Ho first set foot in Petrograd (St. Petersburg today).

Beglov said the authorities in St. Petersburg considered cooperation with Vietnam a priority in their foreign policies. Regardless of the constraints brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, this relationship is not only maintained but also strengthened via online means.

He also expressed his hope to continue cooperating with Vietnam and put forward specific proposals to foster this cooperation, such as constructing the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in St. Petersburg and opening the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Culture and Business in St. Petersburg and a St. Petersburg Center for Culture in Ho Chi Minh City.
