Strengthen Solidarity and Friendship Between Vietnam and Palestine

On the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Palestine (November 19, 1988 - November 19, 2023), at the invitation of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement Party (Fatah), the delegation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and the Vietnamese Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People (VCSPP), led by VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga, paid a working visit to Palestine on August 6-12.

Prime Minister Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh received the delegation on August 9 at his office.

During the visit to Palestine, the delegation laid wreaths at the grave of President Yesser Arafat, greeted the leaders of the provinces of Jericho, Jenin and Hebron, met and discussed with leaders of Palestine Businessmen Association, Palestine Women's Association and Palestine Writers Association.

The delegation visited An-Najah National University, some historical, cultural and religious sites in Nablus, Betlehem, Hebron, and learned about the reality of life of Palestinian refugees in Jenin province.

Prime Minister Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh received the delegation on August 9 at the Prime Minister's Office.

At the meetings, Prime Minister Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh, General Secretary of Fatah's Central Committee Jibril M.M. Alrajoub, leaders of agencies and localities warmly welcomed, and assessed the delegation's visit as demonstrating the close friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples.

They congratulated the great achievements that the Vietnamese people gained, making Vietnam a bright spot in terms of development, with an increasing role and international position.

They expressed their belief that Vietnam would successfully realize the goals of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Palestinian leaders thank the Vietnamese leaders and people for their valuable help and stance as a support for the just cause of their people.

They affirmed that the Palestinian State and people are steadfast in their goal of fighting for national independence and self-determination through peaceful means, implementing United Nations resolutions, international law and agreements reached.

The Palestinian Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is not only an example and inspiration for the Palestinian people in the struggle for national independence and self-determination but also a model in national development.

He emphasized that the two countries share common values of national independence, peace and justice, and have great potential to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, culture, education, and youth.

Palestinian leaders appreciated the contributions of Vietnamese people's organizations to strengthening Vietnam-Palestine relations.

He wished the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnamese Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People to unite with the Palestinian people in close coordination with Palestinian people's organizations to promote people-to-people exchanges and inform the people of Vietnam and Palestine, especially the younger generations, about the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations conveyed the Vietnamese leader's greetings to the Palestinian leaders. She expressed her impression and congratulated the important achievements won by the Palestinian people.

President Nguyen Phuong Nga informed us about the situation in Vietnam. She sincerely thanked the support and help that Palestinian leaders and people have given Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation, the unification of the country in the past, and in the present national construction and defense.

Vietnamese delegates shared the difficulties and sufferings of the Palestinian people. They affirmed the solidarity and the same stance of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people in support of the Palestinian people's cause of just struggle for their national rights, the right to self-determination and to establish an independent Palestinian State.

The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnamese Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People will do their best to work closely with their Palestinian partners, to strengthen the traditional friendship and solidarity, and promote multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Palestine.

They strive for the goal of peace, stability, a peaceful and happy life in independence, and freedom for the Palestinian people.
