The topic was discussed between Dong Huy Cuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), and the delegation of Germany's left-wing Die Linke Party led by Maximilian Schirmer, Deputy Chairman of the Party and Chairman of the Party unit in Berlin, during the working session on November 20 in Hanoi.

Maximilian Schirmer stated that the delegation's visit was part of the 5th Policy Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the German Die Linke, aimed at continuing dialogue and exchanging experiences. He expressed satisfaction with the increasingly close relationship between the two Parties and countries. He highlighted the cooperation between the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (one of the six major political funds of the Federal Republic of Germany, affiliated with the Die Linke) as a vivid example of this solidarity.

Schirmer affirmed that the German Left Party is focused on developing relations with Vietnam, particularly in supporting Vietnamese workers in Germany to adapt and integrate into their new environment.

Dong Huy Cuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), highly appreciated the Die Linke delegation's visit to maintain dialogue and deepen relations between the two parties and countries. He noted that the Vietnam-Germany relationship has a long history, with Germany establishing organizations to support the Vietnamese people during Vietnam's two wars of independence. In addition to cooperation through Party and State channels, people-to-people exchanges have further deepened the Vietnam-Germany relationship. Currently, 23 German non-governmental organizations operate in Vietnam with a budget of about 10 million USD per year, including the active partnership of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung with VUFO.

Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, Head of the European Department at VUFO, mentioned that the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association partners with the Germany-Vietnam Association and the Vietnam Friendship Association of the Federal Republic of Germany. Through delegation exchanges and translation and publications of books between German and Vietnamese, these associations have enhanced mutual understanding between the people of both countries. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association hope that Die Linke and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung will coordinate activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations (September 23, 1975 - September 23, 2025).
