"Walking around Hoan Kiem Lake on Friday or Saturday nights, with all the people walking around the lake from different generations. Families, grandparents, and kids playing games together; listening to concerts, eating outside in the streets; the night street food of Hanoi. Then also cycling to work in the morning from West Lake to the Embassy office, seeing people exercising in parks, by the lakes, having pho outside for breakfast, and so on... That's a very different lively street life from what we have in Sweden. I will sincerely miss this." |
