The Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany attended the naming ceremony and became the godfather of Bao Ngoc the elephant. According to the ambassador, Bao Ngoc is one of the symbols of Vietnam-Germany friendship.

Dak Lak province is working to boost the elephant-friendly tourism model.

Elephants riding tours, tourism services, exploiting animals and entailing numerous risks for both tourists and mahouts. They have been repeatedly alerted about a sharp decline in the number of elephants in recent years, and one of the main reasons is that elephants are being excessively exploited for tourism purposes.
