Vietnam has made impressive progress toward universal health coverage (UHC) in the past decade while prioritizing different dimensions.

Bach Mai Hospital, one of the biggest public hospitals in the country, has recently announced it would gradually wipe out so-called “serviced beds” or “beds on demand”.

The US-based prestigious political outlet Politico has ranked Vietnam “the best COVID-19 performer globally”, with a possible 2.87 percent growth in the economy this year.  The ranking is based on the COVID-19 impacts on public health and economic outcomes.
