According to a Tractus news article, the Vietnamese government is actively supporting computer science courses, intending to train 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said on December 8 that the city is ready to welcome businesses in the semiconductor industry while receiving President and CEO of the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) John Neuffer.

Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized: "The inauguration and operation of the factory for manufacturing, assembling, and testing semiconductor materials and equipment is an important milestone for Bac Ninh province in establishing Bac Ninh province's place on the global semiconductor component production map".

Vietnam has a fast-increasing semiconductor ecosystem and possibilities to improve its position in the global supply chain. In the joint announcement of the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two countries acknowledged Vietnam's significant potential to become a key nation in the semiconductor industry, adding they "are supportive of the rapid growth of the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam."
