Formal diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Vietnam were established in 1971. Ever since, the friendly ties between the two countries have grown and expanded across a wide spectrum. On the occasion of 50 years of Swiss-Vietnamese bilateral relations in 2021, the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam has held an event of "Launching the commemorations to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Swiss-Vietnamese Diplomatic Relations" on 25 March in Hanoi.
