Tennis Tournament to Celebrate the Establishment of the Vietnam Tennis Association in Russia
The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Tennis Association in Russia (ViTAR) with the participation of 70 Vietnamese athletes who are living and working in Russia as well as some athletes from Vietnam. Participants compete in 6 different categories for men and women.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Phan Tuan Khanh, President of ViTAR, sincerely thanked the support of the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia and the Vietnamese Association in Russia, as well as the enthusiastic participation of clubs from across the Russian Federation and many fans. He said that due to the complicated political and economic situation in Russia and around the world, this year tournament was missing many friends and tennis players from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, and Vietnam.

The tournament still receives the attention and support of friends and tennis lovers around the world. This is also a playground for the young generation of ViTAR to practice, connect and understand more about Vietnamese culture and people, thereby joining hands to build a growing Vietnamese community in Russia, towards the Fatherland.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Russia Do Xuan Hoang expressed his impression of ViTAR connection and solidarity during 15 years since its establishment. He highly appreciated ViTAR's contributions in creating a healthy playground, promoting the movement of physical training and sports, as well as connecting the Vietnamese community far from home. On this occasion, the Chairman also presented ViTAR with a trophy to celebrate 15 years of the association's glorious journey.
Especially, this year's tournament was participated by many more young players who are 2nd and 3rd generation of Vietnamese people. As a result, tennis player Ho Sy Hai Son of Future Club and Do Ba Khiem (Song La Club) won the first prize in single category for men. Truong Phuc Quang - Le Tung Bach from VLC Club and Do Ba Khiem (Song La Club) – Do The Phuong (Vietnam) won the first prize in pair category for men; Vu Thu Huong and Tran My Phuong of Co May Club won the first prize in pair category for women; and Vo Hong Nhung (Co May Club) - Do Nam Anh (Volgina Club) won the first prize in pair category for men and women.

Established on June 1, 2008, ViTAR is a playground for all Vietnamese people who love tennis living, working and studying in Russia. ViTAR regularly organizes activities such as tournaments or events towards the Fatherland to connect its members, attracting the participation of many members and friends from all over the world. ViTAR has been constantly developing in the motto of "Fun - Health - Solidarity".
