Third ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition ongoing in Hanoi

On November 6, the third ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition kicked off in Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, Hanoi. This is a meaningful cultural and artistic event in 2020 when Vietnam assumes the ASEAN Chairmanship. It is organized by the Department of Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Department of International Cooperation (under Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with Vietnamese Embassies in ASEAN countries and the embassies of ASEAN countries in Vietnam with a view to fostering ties, cooperation and cultural exchanges between ASEAN countries, VOV reported.

The artistic council chooses 117 works among 345 ones of 182 painters from 10 ASEAN member states to display at the exhibition. Pictured is an artwork by Thai painter Chakrit Lapaudomloet which wins first prize.

The displayed artworks feature life, people, natural landscapes, country, solidarity, cooperation, etc of ASEAN countries.

A total of 11 outstanding works are awarded including 1 first prize (belong to Thai artist), 2 second prizes (belong to Thailand and Vietnamese artists), 3 third prizes (belong to Philippines, Thailand and Vietnamese artists) and 5 consolation prizes.
