Ba Vi National Park

Located about 60km from the center of Hanoi, Ba Vi National Park is an interesting destination for tourists with various types of eco-tourism, resort, spiritual tourism, and cultural discovery. The national park has attractions such as an abandoned old church covered with mysterious moss or a cactus greenhouse.

The National Park has a total area of about 9,700 hectares, stretching across the administrative boundaries of Hanoi and Hoa Binh province. This is a place where tourists can immerse themselves in the cool atmosphere with the gorgeous natural scenery of the three mountains: King Peak, Tan Vien Peak, and Ngoc Hoa Peak. It also possesses diverse and rare flora and fauna.

Many memorable adventures awaits at Ba Vi Mountain and the temple, cactus garden, French ruins, the relics of Thuong Temple, Cuu Trung Thien Mother Temple, Uncle Ho's Temple, and Bao Thien Tower. From November to December, this place attracts many tourists to visit and take pictures when the hills of wild sunflowers bloom brightly.

Suoi Hai Lake

Located at the foot of Tan Mountain, Suoi Hai Lake belongs to the communes: Cam Linh, Ba Trai, Thuy An, and Tan Linh (Ba Vi district). This is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Hanoi, built in the 1950s, with an area of 10 square kilometers and a water reserve of about 100 million cubic meters.

There are several islands in the lake. There were boats available around-the-clock to take tourists to the islands or cruise around the lake. The fares are reasonable. To get to the largest island, it only cost VND30,000 (US $1.5) per person, while hiring a private boat to go around the 90ha reservoir costs VND300,000 (US $15), and tourists can stop at any island of their choice.

Initially, Suoi Hai Lake was built to hold water from streams flowing from Tan Mountain to provide irrigation water for about 7,000ha of agricultural land in Ba Vi and surrounding areas. thanks to the poetic and peaceful scenery, Suoi Hai Lake became an eco-tourism destination and an ideal place for tourists to rest and enjoy the peaceful natural scenery.

Tien Sa Lake

Located at the foot of Tan mountain, at an altitude of 65-400m, Tien Sa Lake (Tan Linh commune, Ba Vi district) has an area of 150ha, including about 120ha of forest and more than 20ha of water surface.

The lake is nestled among lush forests, creating a cool climate and making it an ideal vacation destination, especially in the summer. Moreover, the site has resorts and recreation areas, making it a popular weekend getaway. Visitors can indulge in various activities such as fishing and photography against the beautiful natural backdrop of the lake.

How to get to Ba Vi

If tourists go by car, they can take Thang Long Boulevard to Thien Son Suoi Nga. Another popular route is Highway 32. It takes about an hour to get to Ba Vi from Hanoi. They can also get a ride at My Dinh Bus Station.

Accommodation services in Ba Vi are quite developed, which gives visitors many options from affordable to high-end. Most eco-tourism areas and farms provide accommodation services for about VND400,000 (US $16.86).
