The three-day congress of the Kon Tum provincial Party Committee (tenure 2015-2020) closed on October 3^rd with 54 members elected to the provincial Executive Party Committee.

In the first meeting session, the Executive Party Committee selected 15 members to the provincial Standing Board. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung was re-elected as Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

In the 2015-2020 tenure, the provincial Party Committee will strive to build Kon Tum towards stability and sustainable development with an average growth rate of 9% a year, admitting over 5,000 new party members by 2020. In addition, 100% of communes and villages will have party organizations and over 75% of the masses will be gathered in socio-political organizations.

Kon Tum will focus on restructuring the economy towards improving productivity, quality, effectiveness and competitive capacity in combination with speeding up the industrialization and modernization process.

The province will continue to develop agriculture comprehensively and in depth, towards producing goods in combination with processing and consuming products; shaping and developing some concentrated agricultural areas with hi-tech applications; improve the quality of human resources and develop cultural values and address social issues.

Together with ensuring national defense, security, political stability, social order and safety and enhancing the effectiveness of foreign affairs, Kon Tum continues to build a transparent, strong and firm Party Committee, whilst at the same time improving the leadership of the Party Committee, renewing the contents and method of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations./.
