(VNF) - The Vietnam Football Federation VFF’s professional section sent the 40-member U23 national squad preliminary roster to Japanese head coach Miura for reference, right after the second round of V.League 2015.

Most players in the U19 national squad (key members of the first training course from HAGL Arsenal-JMG) are listed, including Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh and Xuan Truong. They are expected to compete for two consecutive SEA Games.

Besides, the list also sees the names of players from the Vietnam Olympic team who defeated Iranian rivals 4-1 in ASIAD 17 in Incheon last year, such as Dao Duy Khanh (HN T&T), Vo Huy Toan (SHB.DN), Pham Hoang Lam (DTLA), Ho Sy Sam, and Pham Manh Hung (SLNA).

Both coach Miura and VFF would take turns at the stage during matches from round 2 to 8 before finalizing the 30-member list.

The list will be officially announced in mid-February after having approval from the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, said Mr Mai Duc Chung.

As scheduled, the U23 squad will gather in Hanoi after enjoying the lunar new year 2015, in preparation for U23 Asia Championships qualifying round which set to take place in Malaysia from March 23rd - 31st. In the event, Vietnamese rivals are Japan, Macau (China) and the host Malaysia./.
