Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Showcases The First 3D Mapping Light With Ao Dai Performance

For the first time at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi), a 3D mapping light show combined with an Ao Dai performance took place on the evening of January 5.

The Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam coordinated with designer Minh Hanh to introduce the fashion show "Where I Was Born", with the participation of 18 famous designers in Vietnam. The designers's personal stories about Ao Dai brought many interesting facts about Vietnamese culture. A special feature of the event is that the program featured 3D light mapping combined with an Ao Dai performance on January 5.

18 ao dai designers and brands participating in the show included: Thanh Thuy, Cao Minh Tien, Trinh Bich Thuy, Duy Nguyen, Silky Viet Nam, Che Quyet Tien, Giang Doan, Phuong Thao, Ngoc Han, Laura - Chula, Tran Thien Khanh, Viet Bao, Hue Thi, Nguyen Thuy, Trung Beret, Minh Hanh, Cong Huan, and Cao Duy.

Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Le Xuan Kieu said that this is an event to welcome the new year, and other cultural activities to increase the tourist experience.

“The 3D mapping light projection program combined with the traditional Ao Dai performance not only honors the heritage value of the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam but also the beauty of Ao Dai. In the show, the story of Ao Dai from many different regions will be told in an artistic space of music and light, bringing visitors an attractive and different experience,” Le Xuan Kieu shared.

Designer Minh Hanh introduced a collection of ao dai with brocade materials bearing the mark of the land and people of the Central Highlands while designer Thanh Thuy brought Ao Dai with motifs and shapes of ban flowers - a typical flower of Dien Bien, where she was born. The fashion of Ho Chi Minh City was represented by designer Cong Huan.

Designer Trinh Bich Thuy told the story of Hanoi's winter through a collection of Ao Dai combined with cotton–padded coats. Duy Nguyen's designs celebrate the beauty of the Hanoian countryside with a collection of handmade ao dai typical of Thach Xa craft village, Ung Hoa.
