Vietnam, Africa Hold Talk in Supporting Food System Transformation

At the event, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan affirmed that the connection between developing countries has special significance in the context of the ever-changing world.
"Vietnam is committed to expanding South-South cooperation to support African countries in ensuring food security and nutrition, aiming for green growth, sustainable development and prosperity," said Hoan.
Dr. Jongsoo Shin, Director of the International Rice Research Institute (Asia region), stressed that South-South cooperation has the potential to revolutionize rice production in Asia and Africa. He also noted that sharing knowledge and expertise is one of the main goals of South-South Cooperation. Through direct field exchanges, training programs, research partnerships, and technology transfer, farmers will better adapt to new farming methods.
In the dialogue workshop, Vietnamese and international panelists discussed the significance of collaborative efforts to improve global food security and build a more sustainable future for rice farmers.
