They shared the view that Brazil has remained Vietnam’s largest trade partner in Latin America with two-way trade reaching a record of 4.89 billion USD in 2019, and the two countries still have substantial potential to enhance their trade and investment links.

The officials compared notes on the situation of their respective country, especially the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and measures to revive the economy and ensure social security.

They also reviewed and assessed the bilateral cooperation, and discussed measures in an effort to advance the Vietnam-Brazil comprehensive partnership in the time ahead.

On this occasion, the two sides exchanged ideas on international and regional issues of common concern. They concurred to maintain their coordination and mutual support at international organisations and multilateral forums to which both are members like the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the Forum of East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC), as well as cooperation between ASEAN and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR)./.
