Vietnam - China friendship cultural house opened in border province

A series of activities on the frameworking of the sixth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange have been successfully organized in the Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh.
The activities started off with a solemn reception hosted by Vietnamese Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the exchange, for his Chinese counterpart Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe, head of the Chinese delegation at Hoanh Mo Border Gate (Vietnam).
After the reception, the two defense ministers joined a border landmark saluting ceremony, painted landmarks, and planted a friendship tree. They also attended the inaugural ceremony for a Vietnam - China friendship cultural house in Dong Van commune in Quang Ninh province’s Binh Lieu district, and presented gifts to the house.
The Vietnam - China friendship cultural house in Dong Van commune is built on an area of 4,200m², the first floor area is 700m², the second floor is 650m², with 240 seats. The work is the result of joint investment and construction by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of China to present to people of Dong Van commune, Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and the people of Dong Trung town, Fangcheng, Guangxi Province (China).
Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, "The Vietnam - China friendship cultural house in Dong Van commune is not only a typical and practical cooperation result of the Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange, but also a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two ministries, between the local government and people on both sides of the border."
“I hope that after being put into use, this friendship cultural house will be a place for regular cultural and spiritual exchanges of the two armies and people in the border area. Thereby fostering political trust, friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the border guards, authorities, and peoples of the two countries in border areas, contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and development,” Giang emphasized.

Ma Di Son, Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of Dong Van Commune People's Committee, said that the local government will manage and put cultural houses and gifts from Defense Ministers to good use by organizing cultural, artistic, sports and physical training activities, exchange production experiences for peoples of the two countries in border areas.
Before that, Major General Le Duc Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Border Guardsaid, “In recent years, especially since the first Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange was held in 2014, the friendship and solidarity between the border guards, authorities, and peoples of the two countries in border areas have made new progress. Many meaningful activities, such as conclusion of residential clusters on both sides of the border, the program "Friendship station, peaceful border", indigenous cultural exchanges, provision of livelihood support have shown effectiveness.”
Since then, more friendship houses have been built along the borderline between the two countries including a cultural house in Po To village, Huoi Luong commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province; and other one in Chi Ma, Yen Khoai commune, Loc Binh district, Lang Son province; cultural house in Ban Lau commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province. As a result, people on both sides of the Vietnam-China border have more opportunities to exchange, meet and hold cultural activities, improve their spiritual life, and then together maintain stability, social order and safety in border areas./.
