Vietnam Consulate General in Preah Sihanouk supports people in difficult circumstances

Vietnam Consulate General in Preah Sihanouk gifted humanitarian aids to the Community Support Fund under Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia at Moc Bai International Border Gate (Tay Ninh province) on May 7. The aids will be given to Vietnamese Cambodian and Cambodian citizens who face difficult living conditions due to the pandemic.
The handover ceremony was attended by representatives from Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia, Vietnam General Consulate in Preah Sihanouk, Khmer - Vietnam Association cell in Kandal and Kampong Chhnang provinces.
Right after receiving the aids, Community Support Fund representative handed Mr. Vu Ngoc Ly, Vietnam General Consul in Preah Sihanouk 6,000 kg of rice, 300 instant noodle boxes, 20,000 medical masks.
The Fund handed Mr. Bui Minh Tam, a representative from the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Kampong Chhnang province 6,500 kg of rice, 200 instant noodle boxes, and 30,000 medical masks. Mr. Nguyen Van Lap, President of the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Kandal received 7,500 kg of rice, 500 instant noodle boxes, and 30,000 medical masks.
Through the humanitarian aid distribution, the Community Support Fund under Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia hoped that the recipient organizations would timely give the gift to people who were in extremely difficult circumstances.

According to Mr. Bui Quang Minh, the representative from the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Kampong Chhnang province, this relief aid was timely and practical for the people, especially 375 households in Boribour district who are in quarantine due to a number of Covid-19 community infections.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Trung, Counselor, the representative from Community Support Fund said there has been overwhelming support for the Vietnamese community and Cambodian citizens in difficult circumstances. Responding to the embassy's call for action, many agencies, organizations, localities, businesses and philanthropists in Vietnam and Cambodia had joined hands to donate and transferred the aids to the Fund to coordinate and distribute more than 150 tons of goods including food, essential goods, medical supplies, and over VND 3 billion (USD 130) to support families with disadvantaged.
From the beginning of March, the Embassy has coordinated with the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Cambodia at all levels to distribute emergency relief goods to more than 8,000 households, and support many agencies, localities, and frontline anti-pandemic force in Cambodia in helping people reduce difficulties, joining hands to support Vietnam and Cambodia's Covid-19 prevention process.
It is expected that next week, the Fund will continue to receive urgent aids from 5 agencies, organizations, and localities in Vietnam to support overseas people in Cambodia and Cambodian citizens.
