Daily Covid-19 infections fall to one month low of over 65,000

Vietnam recorded 65,619 coronavirus cases on April 2, representing a fall of nearly 7,000 cases compared to the previous day, the lowest figure recorded in the past month. Official data from the Ministry of Health show that 65,616 cases were logged in the country, including 42,193 cases diagnosed in the community. Only three people tested positive upon returning from overseas.

Hanoi capital topped localities, registering 7,423 fresh cases, followed by Dak Lak, Nghe An, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and Ha Giang which reported more than 2,000 each. Notably, Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands announced 3,999 new cases, an increase of 900 cases compared to the previous day.

The Covid-19 outbreak is showing signs of waning nationwide with most cases infected with the Omicron variant. During the day, nearly 107,000 patients were discharged from the hospital after making a full recovery from the disease, while an additional 37 patients died of the virus.

Vietnam international aviation expo 2022 to return in September

The Vietnam International Aviation Expo 2022 (VIAE 2022) will be held on September 15-17 in Hanoi after being delayed for more than two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, heard a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on April 2. With the theme “A sustainable growth for a brighter future”, VIAE 2022 is expected to enhance the exchange and sharing of development opportunities and new initiatives among experts and business leaders; leading domestic and foreign airlines, and manufacturers.

Topics on post-Covid-19 aviation development, stimulating flying demand, operating standards at airports, requirements for next-generation aircraft, standards of aerospace equipment suppliers, aviation ecosystem design, and aviation personnel demand in the next 20 years, will be put on the table. The expo will showcase advanced aviation technologies and equipment, and modern airplane models used in the supply, production, operation, and maintenance chain of the aviation industry.

In addition, VIAE 2022 will also serve as a forum for businesses specializing in aviation from Vietnam, the US, Canada, Russia, Europe, and many countries in Asia to set up partnerships and expand business relationships.

After more than 2 years of closure due to Covid-19, Da Nang city has recently introduced a range of new tourism products focusing on its beautiful coastal strip. Beaches in the central city are now ready to welcome visitors once again, especially during the upcoming tourist season.

On recent weekends, beaches such as My Khe, Pham Van Dong, and My An have attracted both local people and visitors. The number of those enjoying the sand in the afternoon is growing every day. Over recent days, many fast food and drink places and check-in areas along beaches have also re-opened, finding favor even among local people.

At 4 and 5-star hotels along the coast, rooms are starting to fill up. City authorities are now working closely with relevant agencies to introduce tourism programs and events during the peak tourist season, focusing on developing services along the beach and on both sides of the Han River.
