The event was held during the State visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President of Vietnam To Lam at the invitation of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. The activity takes place as the two countries celebrate the 70 years of diplomatic relations (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024).
At 11:30 a.m. (local time), September 30, the plane carrying General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Genghis Khan International Airport.

According to the agenda, after attending the official welcoming ceremony and meeting with other senior leaders of Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam will attend the Vietnam Cultural Day in Mongolia.
This is an opportunity to introduce and promote the cultural values and tourism potential of Vietnam to the Mongolian public through art performances and exhibitions. Thereby, the event provides deeper understanding about Vietnamese history, culture and people to Mongolians and international friends, contributing to enhancing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The program's main activities include: Performances of traditional and contemporary Vietnamese singing, dancing and music; Ao Dai show; screening of videos on Vietnamese culture and landscapes; exhibition space about Vietnamese culture, tourism, country and people; and handicraft display.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vietnam leader's visit to Mongolia is of historic significance, opening a new phase of comprehensive, substantive, effective and long-term cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples.
It is expected that many new documents and agreements will be signed during the visit to realize the above goals. Leveling up bilateral relations demonstrates the commitment of both countries to enhancing comprehensive cooperation in many fields. At the same time, it opens up new opportunities for both sides to take advantage of untapped cooperation potential; promoting people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.
"Promoting Vietnam - Mongolia diplomatic relations to a new level not only brings benefits to the two countries but also contributes to maintaining stability and peace in the region and the world," said Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh.
