On August 23, the International Military Games (Army Games) 2021 - a major international playground in the field of military and defense officially opened in Moscow, Russia.

The sports festival has 280 participating teams representing 44 countries. The teams of the Vietnam People's Army have been carefully trained, ready to enter the competition for the country's flags and colors, for the heroic Vietnam People's Army tradition.

The Army Games 2021 has 36 competitions taking place in 12 countries and territories. To promptly access the training ground of the host countries, most of the Vietnam People's Army's teams competing abroad have been to Russia since July. This year is the fouth time the Vietnam People's Army has participated in the Army Games and competed in 15 competitions.

Ready to accept difficult tasks, 21 members of the tank team, before leaving, signed the letter and the Vietnamese flag in turn as an affirmation of their determination to play their best and gain good results in the International Military Games.

Colonel Phan Hai Long, head of the tank team, said: "In 2021, when we set up the team, we decided that in addition to the task assigned, we must build our determination so that the army had a training atmosphere from the very beginning."

"We are determined to give our best. Up to this moment, the mentality of the officers and soldiers in the Vietnamese team are all excited to successfully complete the task."

Colonel Pham Tuan Luc, head of the Engineers Team participating in the Army Games 2021, said that in the past five months, the team members have not been afraid of the sun and rain, practicing passionately day and night on the field:

“This year's coaching achievements can be said to have made great progress compared to previous years. This year, the best conditions are the long training time, with up to five months to organize practice, starting from March 1 to before the time of the competition,” he said.

"With bravery and creativity to overcome all difficulties, and the support of the country, all teams of the Vietnam People's Army have confidently entered the Army Games 2021 to continue the glorious tradition of the People's Army in the integration period."

Vietnamese corvettes compete in Army Games 2021

Ship 016 Quang Trung will compete with modern Russian and Chinese corvettes in the Sea Cup content of the Army Games 2021.

The opening ceremony of the Sea Cup competition took place at the wharf of the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok yesterday, with the participation of the commander and crew participating in the competition.

The main competitions will take place from August 23-27 in the waters off the Russian city of Vladivostok and the Caspian Sea bordering Iran, with the participation of seven teams: Vietnam, Russia, China, and Azerbaijan, Iran, Myanmar and Kazakhstan.

Vietnam's 016 Quang Trung corvette will compete with Russia's Project 20380 Sovershennyy frigate and China's Type-056 class Guangyuan frigate in Vladivostok. Ships of other countries compete in the Caspian Sea.

Vietnam sent fleets 015 and 016 ships to compete in the Sea Cup within the framework of the Army Games 2021 hosted by Russia.

Major Ma Nguyen Thanh, captain of ship 015 Tran Hung Dao, said that the Army Games was an opportunity to verify training results, capabilities, combat readiness, professional qualifications of officers and soldiers, as well as the strength and position of the Vietnam People's Navy in the international arena.

The Vietnam People's Navy team has completed advanced training in Russia, and is ready to compete with determination to achieve high results.
