Vietnam Foodexpo 2023: Great Progress in Food Industry

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said with unique advantages and potential, the food industry is one of Vietnam's key industries. It plays an important role in promoting exports, creating jobs, increasing workers’ income, and socio-economic development.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has currently been coordinating with ministries, sectors, business associations, organizations, and enterprises to promote specific activities and solutions in developing markets, improving product quality, building and developing brands, and gradually increasing export value to develop Vietnam's food industry on a sustainable basis and in compliance with the Government's directions.
To help Vietnamese food enterprises better promote their internal capabilities, grasp and take advantage of the incentives of many new generation bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements that Vietnam participates in, making a stronger breakthrough in the domestic and international markets, the Ministry of Industry and Trade presides over the organization of the annual Vietnam Foodexpo.

“This is one of the most prominent trade promotion activities in the food industry. The event aims to create a professional trade and investment platform - a convergence of hundreds of businesses with thousands of key and developing brands, agricultural products, and food products of Vietnam and foreign countries and territories, along with a variety of advanced and modern machinery and food processing technology" - Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai emphasized.
According to Deputy Minister, Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 has a large scale with over 500 booths of nearly 400 businesses from more than 30 domestic provinces and cities and over 20 foreign countries and territories.
"Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 is a big show of the food industry, a place to honor the national brand value of Vietnamese food as well as the quintessence of world cuisine", he commented.
The industries displayed and introduced at Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 are diverse and span across fields such as Agricultural products (rice, vegetables, tea, coffee, pepper, cashew nuts...); seafood and processed seafood; processed foods and beverages (candy, butter, milk, canned and processed foods, additives and spices, functional foods); machinery, equipment, food processing technology, food preservation and packaging technology, food safety and hygiene technology.

In addition to Vietnamese booths, Vietnam Foodexpo 2023 had the participation of international businesses from over 20 countries and territories such as the United States, Russia, Australia, and China. Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Finland, France, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Italy, Kazakhstan…
In particular, the State of Oregon (USA) participated in the exhibition as the "Guest of Honor" of Vietnam Foodexpo 2023. Oregon is famous as an iconic location for craft beer and wine, with some of the state's wines recognized as some of the best in the world. This is also the land of superfood fruit products, dairy products, and snacks. From millions of pounds of potato chips to premium cheese, thousands of delicious and quality products coming from Oregon have been produced and sold worldwide.
According to the organizing board, a large number of traders and purchasers from the Republic of Korea, Japan, Germany, the US, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Canada, and India registered to visit and make transactions at the exhibition. |
