Vietnam is a crucial partner of Indonesia in the region, he noted, adding that there is ample room and potential for the two countries to explore in order to elevate cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral aspects.

The two sides highly appreciated the positive and effective developments of the Vietnam - Indonesia strategic partnership across all areas. Both sides pledged to continue working closely together to promote all-level exchanges and contacts via all channels, people-to-people exchanges, and local-to-local linkages; agreed to join hands in organizing activities to commemorate the 70th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations (1955-2025) and the 80th anniversary of both nations' Independence Days by 2025.

The two sides agreed to strive to soon bring bilateral trade turnover to USD 18 billion; encourage businesses of the two countries to invest in each other's markets, especially in new fields such as Halal industry, digital economy, green economy, energy conversion, and development of electric vehicle ecosystems.

The Vice President asked Indonesia to continue to facilitate Vietnam's agricultural products and Halal products to access the Indonesian market and for Vietnam's investment projects in Indonesia. The two sides agreed to promote cooperation in other important areas such as defense and security, transnational crime prevention, and maritime cooperation.

The host and the guest vowed to step up close coordination at international and regional forums and organizations, especially in maintaining the solidarity and centrality of ASEAN in addressing regional issues, including the East Sea issue.

They underscored the need to soon achieve an effective and efficient Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (COC) in accordance with international law, including the UNCLOS 1982.

On this occasion, the Vice President conveyed the invitation from the Vietnamese leaders to President Prabowo Subianto to visit Vietnam soon. The Indonesian President happily accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam at a suitable time.
