Vietnam earned a total of 3,669 points in order to finish 49th on the global beauty rankings in 2023, compiled by Missosology, the world’s leading publication on beauty pageants, VOV reported.

Missosology calculates Vietnam’s total points in terms of the achievements of various national representatives across the five major beauty pageants such as Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Earth, and Miss Supranational.

Notable names from the country, include Dang Thanh Ngan, the fourth runner-up of Miss Supranational 2023, Nguyen Phuong Nhi, a Top 15 finisher at Miss International 2023, and Do Thi Lan Anh, the second runner-up of Miss Earth 2023.

Do Thi Lan Anh was honored with the Miss Earth Water title, equal to that of a runner-up, in the grand final of Miss Earth 2023 pageant which was held in December 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Lan Anh, 26, who was crowned Miss Earth Vietnam 2023, is currently residing in the United States and stands at 1.71 metres tall with body measurements of 85-60-9 5cm.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese beauty Dang Thanh Ngan grabbed an international title after being named the fourth runner-up at Miss Supranational 2023 held in Poland. Ngan was also the winner of the Fan Vote challenge.

Thanh Ngan, 24, from the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang is 1.75 meters tall with measurements of 85-60-95. She was the second runner-up of Miss Ocean Vietnam 2017 and winner of Miss Can Tho Student 2017 and Leading Stars 2018.

Despite not claiming any title at Miss International 2023, Vietnamese representative Nguyen Phuong Nhi was named among the Top 15 finalists.

Phuong Nhi, 21, stands at 1.70 metres tall and measures 80-57-88. She first rose to prominence by winning the second runner-up title at Miss World Vietnam 2022, thereby meeting the criteria to represent the country at the 2023 Miss International pageant.

However, she was honored among the Top 20 of the Most Beautiful Face Of The Year, as voted for by international fans on Cutiepiebeautyy’s Instagram.

Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong who will represent Vietnam at the upcoming Miss World contest is expected to help the nation to improve its rankings in the global list.

Vietnam jumped two places, from the 51st position in 2022 to the 49th position in 2023. The country claimed the same 52nd position in global beauty charts in 2019, 2020, and 2021, as announced by Missosology.

With the recent achievements recorded in 2023, the United States topped the list with a total of 22,416 points, followed by Venezuela with 20,491 points, the Philippines with 15,464 points, Brazil with 14,789 points, and Colombia with 14,472 points.

Others in the Top 10 countries were India, Australia, Spain, Japan, and Finland.

Vietnam was ranked behind China and Costa Rica which stood at the 47th and 48th places, respectively. The country was trailed by Paraguay and Bolivia at the 50th and 51st.

Vietnam was listed among the Top 10 countries in the Grand Slam ranking for beauty last year, as announced by international beauty site Globalbeauties.

Although Bui Quynh Hoa finished empty-handed at Miss Universe 2023, the nation was added one point for sending a representative to the global beauty pageant.
