Vietnam, Laos to Boost Cooperation at Multilateral Forums

The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted a ceremony on August 29 to celebrate the Vietnam's 77th National Day.
Ambassador Latsamy Keomany, permanent representative of Laos to the United Nations, WTO and other international organizations in Geneva, delivered a speech to congratulate Vietnam's 77th National Day.
The Ambassador mentioned the precious tradition of close cooperation in multilateral forums between the two delegations of Vietnam and Laos in Geneva.
He said the two delegations will continue to cooperate closely, support each other in all circumstances.
They make practical contributions to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
On the National Day of the Vietnamese people, Ambassador Latsamy Keomany sent best wishes to Vietnam, leaders and all staff of the Vietnamese delegation in Geneva. He wished to further strengthen the relationship between the two delegations.

Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai said the close attachment and cooperation between the two delegations of Vietnam and Laos in Geneva demonstrates the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador said that Vietnam's success in the cause of national liberation, defense and national construction is due to the assistance and cooperation of the Party, State and people of Laos. It is also the common success of the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
She also said that the officials and staff of the Vietnamese delegation continued to accompany and cooperate closely with the officials and staff of the Lao delegation in Geneva.
They preserve and strengthen the special friendship and solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, contributing to the development of Vietnam and Laos.
The Ambassador said the operations of the permanent mission have been strengthening the nation’s foreign affairs at the center of multilateral external relations, and asserting a fact that Vietnam is a responsible member of the international community.
So far, Vietnam has set up diplomatic ties with 190 countries around the world, including strategic partnership and comprehensive partnership with 30 nations, according to the diplomat.
Meanwhile, the country has established economic relations with more than 230 countries and territories, and signed 15 free trade agreements (FTA), including new-generation FTAs. It has also been an active member of more than 70 important multilateral organizations and forums.
The celebration of Vietnam's National Day between the two Vietnamese and Lao delegations in Geneva took place in a warm, intimate atmosphere.
In 2022, there will be many activities and exchanges between the two delegations. This is an important year for Vietnam and Laos.
The two countries organized many important activities and events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022).
