Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre Won "Pyongyang Spring April" Festival

The unique dance music, imbued with traditional identity from talented artists of Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre, introduced Vietnamese art to North Korean audiences and international friends.

The 32nd "Pyongyang Spring April" International Friendship Arts Festival was held in North Korea in April 2022.

Attending the festival online, the art program of the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre is called Spring Sunshine, directed by Meritorious Artist Do An, including 13 songs.

The art program won the Excellent Award among more than 40 participating countries. The organizers also awarded many awards such as Gold Cup, Silver Cup, Contribution Award to the artists of the Vietnamese team.

On July 9, the award ceremony for the winning artists of the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre was held in Hanoi.

The Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre is located in No. 8 – Huynh Thuc Khang, Thanh Cong, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.

Since its establishment on November 14, 1951 in Viet Bac War Zone, the Theatre has been created, organizesd and performed art in service of preserving traditional performing arts and developing modern ethnic music and dance arts.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that he close friendship between Vietnam and North Korea was nurtured and respected by two great leaders, President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Nhat Thanh.

Sharing enthusiasm and love for the performing arts with artists from North Korea, Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre have made great efforts, overcoming difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and creating memorable moments at the Festival.

According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, the Pyongyang Spring International Friendship Art Festival in April is a very professional and world-class international art festival with high artistic quality. He thanked the Northern Korea artist and art lovers community, adding that they had left beautiful memories for Vietnamese artists.

With more than 30 years since its establishment, the festival has welcomed thousands of art troupes from more than 100 countries around the world.

The Festival has affirmed its prestige in the world and for many years Vietnam has participate dregularly and achieve good results. This is an important culture bridge to further strengthen the solidarity between the people from the two countries.

On behalf of the North Korean Embassy, ​​Mr. Ri Ho Jun, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Vietnam congratulated the staff and artists of the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre.

Ri Ho Jun thanked all the 70 art troupes from about 40 countries around the world that attended the 32nd "Pyongyang Spring April" International Friendship Arts Festival, especially the teams that attended online.

He affirmed that achieving these results, the artists had performed with their love and admiration for President Kim Il Sung and for the precious friendship between Vietnam and North Korea.
