Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach thanked the Ukrainian side for its efforts to organize the event, emphasizing that the organization of the exhibition demonstrates the positive development of the close ties of friendship, despite enduring numerous difficulties.

The exhibition also conveys the enthusiastic support that exists for Ukrainian friends of the embassy's operations, helping to promote mutual understanding and co-operation, he said.

In response, Konstantin Chernyavsky, head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, highlighted the initiative of the Vietnamese Embassy in inviting various Ukrainian artists to draw the Vietnamese landscape and its people, noting that the paintings serve to give Ukraine people greater insights into Vietnam through sketches of their native painters.

Sharing this perspective, Andrei Sheketa, acting chairman of the Zarkapatia Oblast Council, underscored the importance of the exhibition in broadening his knowledge about the country, adding that he would introduce the people of Zakarpatia to works on show in the future.

At the ceremony, a number of representatives from several Ukrainian social organizations also applauded cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy as part of efforts to help the two peoples learn more about each other through the implementation of joint cultural projects.
