During the phone talks, Minh spoke highly of Kuwait’s role in the Middle East, and shared difficulties Kuwait has encountered due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He affirmed that Vietnam stays ready to share its experience in COVID-19 response with Kuwait.
Both sides agreed to work closely together to repatriate Vietnamese workers affected by the pandemic from Kuwait.
They expressed satisfaction at the development of traditional friendship between the two countries in recent times, with a two-way trade reaching nearly USD3.6 billion last year.
The two sides agreed to effectively implement signed agreements, and increase exchanges to seek breakthrough solutions to bilateral cooperation, especially after the pandemic is under control. They also proposed fostering the exchange of high-level visits, trade and investment promotion, education and tourism collaboration.
Minh invited the Kuwaiti FM to visit Vietnam next year when the two countries will celebrate the 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomacy.
The Kuwaiti FM accepted the invitation with pleasure and expressed his hope to welcome Deputy PM and FM Minh to Kuwait soon./.
