Vietnam Welcomes New American Consulate
On October 4, Acting Director of the Consular Department Doan Hoang Minh received the Consular Credential and presented the Consular Acceptance Letter to Susan Marie Burns, the new US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Director of the Consular Department Doan Hoang Minh congratulated Susan Marie Burns on becoming the Consul General of the U.S in Ho Chi Minh City.
Doan Hoang Minh hoped that, in her new position, the new Consul General would continue to promote and deepen the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.

At the same time, the Acting Director of the Consular Department affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Vietnamese authorities will always accompany the Consulate General in consular work and create all conditions for the new Consul General to complete a good tenure in Vietnam.
For her part, Susan Marie Burns thanked the Acting Director of Consular Department Doan Hoang Minh for taking the time to receive and hand over the Consular Acceptance Certificate.
During the exchange, she expressed her delight at the good developments in the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership over the past time.

The new Consul General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City also said that she would actively cooperate in resolving consular cases and continue to contribute to promoting the two countries' relations in the upcoming time.
