Vietnamese and Korean Students' Cultural Exchange in 2022

The Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations and the Pacific College (PIC) held an online meeting with Merry Year International (MYI) to discuss the exchange program with volunteers of the University of Seoul, Korea on December 17.

Overview of the online meeting at Can Tho Union

At the meeting, the representative of Merry Year International (MYI) informed about the volunteer program of University of Seoul in Vietnam; with about 30 students participating in exchanges and environmental protection activities in Can Tho city.

The program is conducted in two parts including online activities (expected online activities in February 2022) and direct activities taking place in Vietnam (expected to take place in July and August 2022).

The program will have many cultural and art exchange activities, environmental protection activities, and the two countries will join hands to respond to climate change.

At the meeting, leaders of Can Tho Union introduced to MYI organization about Pacific College, the unit proposed to coordinate the implementation of the Korean volunteer project in Can Tho.

Nguyen Thanh Thong, head of Pacific College, said that after 14 years of formation and development, the school has affirmed its prestige by creating a developing educational environment for students in Can Tho and in the region.

The school has a life skills curriculum, combining extracurricular activities for students. In particular, the school has had much cooperation with prestigious universities, and educational organizations in the country and abroad.

According to Thong, with the above strengths, the school is suitable for coordinating and participating in the volunteer program of the University of Seoul in Can Tho.

Le Thi Thanh Giang, president of Can Tho Union, said she appreciated MYI's preparation for the implementation of the Korean volunteer program in Can Tho in 2022.

According to Giang, this is a meaningful program in cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Korean students, joining hands to respond to climate change.

Le Thi Thanh Giang emphasized that the Union is always ready to support and accompany the project in the city. At the same time, it will create favorable conditions for MYI to implement the Can Tho project.

At the meeting, the units exchanged information about activities related to the organization of the program to suit reality, and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Korean volunteer exchange program in Can Tho.
